Do you charge for a quote visit?

No, we will visit your address or business to discuss your requirements and forward you a quote at no cost

 

Do you operate in my area?

We cover the whole of the Midlands and Warwickshire areas

 

Do you have an out of hours service?

Yes, we can be contacted 24 hours per day – 7 days a week

 

How do I pay you for completed work?

We accept BACS transfers or cheques

 

What hours fall within your standard rate charges?

Our normal working hours are 8.30am to 5pm Monday to Friday

 

Are you NICEIC Registered?

Yes, we are registered and hold the highest accreditation as a NICEIC Approved Contractor

 

Would your quotation be a fixed price for the job and would it include parts and labour?

Once we have provided you with a quotation the price is for everything included

 

Is your work Guaranteed?

Yes, we guarantee all our work for a period of time as stated on the quotation

 

How quickly can I normally expect a visit from you?

We like to aim to be with you to inspect the work required within a week from your initial call, we would then provide you with a quotation, once this has been accepted by you, we would then mutually agree on a suitable date for the work to be carried out.

 

Do you have insurance?

Yes, we do – including public liability and employee insurance

 

Will I recognise that it is Hertz Elec when you arrive at my premises?

All of our team wear a Hertz uniform and drive a Hertz vehicle and if you have a look at our meet the team section on our website you will be able to recognise the electrician visiting you

Is Hertz Electrical a commercially owned organisation?

Hertz Electrical Contractors Ltd is owned by Andy Wood who employs a team of electricians which has grown substantially over the years to what it is today – a very personable, friendly and loyal group of chaps

 

Do you offer a lighting design service?

Yes, we pride ourselves on our bespoke lighting design service - for both domestic and commercial situations, indoor and outdoor lighting solutions

 

Can you offer an emergency lighting service?

Yes, we can – we can offer an annual inspection and maintenance service for you

What is an Electrical Installation Condition Report?

It is an inspection on the condition of your existing electrical installation to identify and safety issues, also referred to as an EICR report or EICR certificate

 

Why would I need an Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR)?

Safety with electrics is paramount, an electrical inspection is designed to eliminate any risk issues and also reduces costly reactive maintenance

 

How often do I need to have an Electrical Condition Report (EICR) test performed?

For a domestic property the advice is every 5 - 10 years

      For a commercial property the advice is every 5 years

      For an industrial property the advice is every 3 years

 

What will an Electrical Condition Report (EICR) cost me?

Electrical testing is from £150 + VAT - you can view our latest price list online

What is a Potable Appliance Test (PAT)?

A portable appliance test (PAT Test) is a routine inspection on certain electrical equipment that lets you know whether they are safe for purpose, this test will include a visual inspection – looking for obvious signs of damage to the casing, wiring or plug

 

Is a PAT Test a legal requirement?

It is not a legal requirement – however, the owner of the property or the business is legally required to ensure that all electrical equipment is in a safe condition to be used by the tenant or employees

How often should a PAT test be performed?

Although conflicting guidelines will recommend from 12 months to 4 years for testing, we recommend an annual 12 month inspection – putting electrical safety paramount

 

How much would a PAT test cost me?

A PAT Test starts from £70 + vat which includes the first 10 items each item is individually priced thereafter. You can view our latest pricing online

 

Do you deal with renewable energy?

Yes, we do offer a service for installing solar PV (Photovoltaic), wind turbines, LED lighting and other sources of renewable energy. You can view our latest energy saving solutions online
